X-country

X - Country

The day had come. It was the day when you had to run , run and run again. I saw people groaning and groaning because they didn’t want to run. I could tell that children were thinking why do we have to do this torture . Yes the cross country day had arrived,

Mr VB blasted the hooter beater into the dark, blue sky. BEEP! AS the hooter beater was shot up into the sky the children started running like millions of bulls running into a zebra. I was only behind about ten people and I got covered in wet; brown, sticky mud. I needed to wipe it off my face but I couldn’t because if I did I would get squished under billions of elephants. Suddenly just one thing made me forget about the mud on my face. I was the … HILL
I felt like dieing going up the hill but knew I had to keep going. I was ten billion miles away from the finish line but I was three meters away from the top of the hill. Three two one! I was on top of the hill. It felt like i’d climbed Mt Everest
but the bad news was soon I had to run it up again.

After the second lap of the hill I only thought of finishing the race. The scorching sun made me more tired than ever. I could hear my friends cheering for me. That meant I was nearly there. I was ten meters away from the finish line. I started sprinting and I was done. I was very proud of myself because I had come SIXTH! I was in the cluster X-country team for the first time.

My argument ^^

Animals should not be kept in  zoos

I absolutely believe that animals should not be kept in zoos for these reasons; hunting , unsuitable environment and the embarrassment.

First of all the hunting. Think of the tigers. Wild tigers hunt by running jumping and scarring but in the zoo the zoo keepers give the meat to them so the tiger doesn’t hunt like when he’s in the wild. Then the tigers will get lazier and lazier and lazier. For another example if the tiger wants to eat cow meat the zoo keeper wouldn’t understand so the keeper might give horse meat. Imagine not eating what you want to eat and eating the same thing every week. It would be better living in the wild.

Next I’m going to talk about the UNSUITABLE ENVIRONMENT. Imagine being in a small cage that’s different to your real home. That’s similar to being kidnapped. The lizard have tiny cages that they can’t even move that much.

Finally the embarrassment. Lots of animals are popular like the red panda , the lion , the tiger , the meerkats and the spider monkey. they might be happy but mostly embarrassed. How embarrassing will it be when you have to pee or poo in front of a huge crowd.

Zoo keepers, do you think it’s fair to make animals trapped in cages? What if you were kept in a tiny cage and separated your family and people laughing at you. Think of the poor animals!
